ALMURA PROVIDES HOPE FOR CASH-STRAPPED COUNCILS

Following successful projects with Hounslow Homes, Almura Building products look set to come to the aid of councils in flood affected areas

The recent floods have damaged thousands of homes around Britain and, with many people not adequately insured, councils are being left to foot the bill. Almura building suppliers are keen to help, following recent collaboration with Hounslow Homes on a project to renovate 360 homes on the Oriel Estate, London.

The project included the restoration of 400 balconies and fascia replacement / cladding to 360 homes. In addition to providing all design works Almura also supplied a technical design service and took on a consultation role. The restoration proved a success for both the council and local residents in the area. Almura we’re chosen from an extensive range of competitors as being the only ones able to match Hounslow’s specific list of requirements. Together the two groups managed to successfully complete the project on time and to budget.

Now Gloucestershire-based Almura are looking to offer a similar service to councils in districts which have been hard hit by the recent summer storms. Managing director Philip Marsh said, “We all realise that the councils have only been given limited budget in which to perform virtual miracles to damaged houses and get residents back into accommodation. Almura are keen to offer our services and our knowledge to aid councils at this time.”

In addition to cladding Almura also offer a range of specially sourced building materials including Terraza decking and Nichiha fabric cement.

Philip said, “With all the other issues surrounding the aftermath of the floods Almura can provide one less headache for councils by acting as a central supplier for all their building needs, meaning they don’t have to waste time chasing different companies to source various materials.”
